Google will soon support responsive emails

Gmail and Inbox are finally going to support the techniques behind responsive emails, and there is cheering in the office. We are ready with a template that has been tested in both clients.

Cheering in the office

Close to 70%. That is how many open the newsletter on a mobile phone at one of our customers. That is why a mobile-optimised template is important, and our standard template naturally adapts to mobile phones automatically, so you do not have to do anything special to get a good-looking result there.

It has had a limitation for a long time, though, because only Apple’s iOS devices (iPhone and iPad) have supported the techniques used to make newsletters mobile-optimised, or responsive, as it is also called. Google simply has not supported it in either Gmail or their new email client, Inbox – but now they are going to, and there is cheering in the office!

During September, both Inbox and Gmail will start supporting the techniques for responsive emails, and we are of course ready with a template that has been tested in both clients.
