SMS
Send SMS from Ubivox and get through, even when email does not
Your recipients are not always in the inbox. Important messages need a channel that delivers. You can send SMS straight from the system you already use for newsletters.
Get through when it is urgent
An email can end up in spam. An SMS does not. When you send a message the recipient has to act on, getting it there is your responsibility.
Emergency notices. Sudden changes to operations. Deadlines that cannot wait. These are situations where you cannot afford to hope the email was seen.
SMS is more than a marketing tool. It is a direct channel to the recipient. Use it when it matters.

You know who received what - and when
It holds for email. It holds for SMS. Ubivox records the delivery status of every message, so you have the documentation ready if anyone asks.
Who got the message. When it was delivered. Whether delivery failed, and who is therefore still waiting. This is not statistics for their own sake. It is documentation of your responsibility for the communication.
Your lists are already there
You do not have to create your recipients in two places. The contacts in Ubivox are the same whether you send email or SMS. Segments, lists and sign-up data are shared.
That means the person responsible for communication can send an email to everyone and an SMS to those who did not open it. Or send an SMS as a follow-up to a specific group. No export. No import. No double registration.

When the communication has consequences
These are the situations where our customers typically use SMS - not instead of email, but where email is not enough.
Emergencies and service notices
A sudden closure. A system failure. Urgent information for citizens, employees or members that cannot wait until tomorrow.
Deadlines and reminders
Sign-up deadlines. Votes. Meetings. A reminder by SMS makes it more likely the recipient sees it, however full the inbox is.
Following up on unopened emails
Send an SMS to the recipients who did not open the email - automatically, as part of your flow. One more chance to get through, without sending the same email again.
Verification and two-step confirmation
Confirm the recipient is who they say they are. Send a reminder about double opt-in. Make sure the right person gets access to the right thing.
The GDPR applies to SMS just as it does to email
Ubivox handles consent, opt-out and documentation for SMS on the same principles as for email. You send. The system keeps it in order.
Set it up once. Your editor can send on their own
The SMS channel does not need IT to set it up every time. Once the sender name is configured, the communications officer can send an SMS exactly like an email: pick recipients, write the text, send.
Responsibility for the communication stays where it belongs - with the person responsible for it, not with the IT department.
